COMMUNICATION 119 POOLS 1-2, 5-2 & 7-4 CLOSED DUE TO CONTAMINATED WATER
Dear Owners,

As established in the Royal Decree 742/2013 of 27 September, (regulations on technical health criteria for swimming pools), the Community of Owners of HRGR is obliged every year and at the end of the summer season to carry out a complete analysis of the water in all the swimming pools in HR. This has been done since 2021 when Murcia City Council carried out its first inspection of the pools at HRGR.

Following the sampling carried out on 14 August 2023, the pool maintenance company, Atlantir, who coordinates the water analysis with the “eurofins” laboratory, has informed us of the following:

All the pools show levels within the parameters established as normal with the exception of 3 pools:

Pool 5-2 (Atlántico 172 – 186) in Phase 5B: The presence of pseudomonas aeruginosa is detected. This pool is currently closed due to faeces found last week. The e-coli test will be re-requested to test for the presence of pseudomonas. If it is still present, the pool water will have to be re-treated and retested. The pool cannot be opened until all levels are correct.

Pool 7-4 (Atlántico 2 – 18) in Phase 7: Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterococcus are detected. Water treatment involves raising the chlorine levels for the necessary time, lowering them back to normal and repeating the water analysis.

Pool 1-2 (Atlántico 102 – 118) in Phase 1: Pseudomonas aeruginosa is detected. Water treatment involves raising the chlorine levels for the necessary time, lowering them back to normal levels and repeating the water analysis. It is for the above reasons that we will proceed with the immediate closure of pools 7-4 & 1-2. In addition, pool 5-2 will also remain closed until we receive the results of the new water analysis.

It will take between 5-7 days to have them open again.

We understand that many of you may be wondering why these bacteria have appeared in the water. Well, after making the appropriate consultations, one of the reasons for the appearance of these bacteria in the water is when it is contaminated by human faeces.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you, and thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you,
Kind regards,  bb3bd7dc-a643-4868-9110-4161df6c806f.jpg
